My Childhood Passion for Design...
LISTEN.… I grew up on an Island where there are little resources, a third world country with limited opportunities, and I was fortunate to make great memories with a generation without a vision and leadership skills. Through many challenges, I manage to surround myself with an older generation who instilled great knowledge and wisdom in me. See… I had an opportunity most children in my generation never got. An opportunity to positively dream! DREAM SO BIG, you get hungrier to succeed every day, take extreme limits and go where no one have gone before, set unrealistic goals, and achieve great accomplishments.
See…I was sick and tired, of being sick and tired, of being sick and tired of society dictating my future and step by step journey to achieving life. That acronym “YOLO” I think someone uneducated made that up. Let me explain… See… We should be preaching: DELAYING GRATIFICATION!... Because one day we will get old, and the generation to come should want to appreciate the history their ancestors created. They should understand what it took to get this far in life. Maybe, just maybe, we will all appreciate life more… I remember going back and forth with my parents, friends and family members about not needing education to make it in life. My respond to them would always be, “If education is the key to success, then why most people with degrees are still broke, and why I’m I being force to go to school, have teachers and instructors teach me what is “right in a perfect world”, when they still live to opposite to what they teach”. I’ve sat in lots of classrooms, listen to many instructors breakdown budgets, explain how to be successful, and I question myself all the time, “If this was truly the guide to success, why would you be teaching for an income, and not teaching to give back to those who were never given a chance to learn, teach with an open heart to help, uplift, and create educated leaders”.
See... That was one of my dreams.. My dreams was to change to game, change what society instilled in our brains and determine how, what, when, and where things should be. I spent all my life walking around with an open mind thinking one day I’ll understand the “Perfect Picture” society paints for us all. But what society didn’t know, I was destine to be great, greater than I thought… Actually! My dreams were just way too big to die. I laugh at many, because in their eyes I was never meant to do great things. Pshh… I still laugh, see they don’t understand the negative keeps me focus so I’m destine to reach the finish line. Some might think that’s immature, but I took something negative and made it positive and motivating…
But through it all, I took a family skill, talent, and knowledge and transform it to a distinctive passion. A passion I can say I’ll do with no income in return, but I’ll be grateful to see the ending results, faces of my clients and the lives I’ve impact through the journey. I know I’m destine to accomplish more, but with great experience, knowledge through my journeys, and the power to dream…
I know I’ll reach my finish line! :)
